Khao Soke Rain Forest Exploration

Khao Soke park covers an area of about 645 square kilometers. It is one of Thailand's best preserved habitats for tropical vegetation and wildlife, with evergreen virgin jungle, waterfalls, sparkling clear rivers and streams, limestone cliffs, and many kinds of protected wildlife including monkeys and wild guar. An area of about 20 square kilometers is occupied by a lake, a beautiful large reservoir which studded with jagged limestone cliffs.

There are nature walks and climbs to be taken in the national park. Destinations include a natural swimming pool flanked by waterfalls on both ends, an eleven-tiered waterfall where wild animals are sometimes seen, and a natural rock arch over a stream. From June through November, float through this majestic landscape on a kayak or inner tubes.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Car to Khao Soke (L,D)
Pick up any South Thailand town by air conditioned car or mini-bus to the Art River View at Khao Soke. At leisure (swimming or relaxing in the beautiful setting of the resort).
15.00 tubing trip on the river for about 1 hour before excursion to the beautiful view point.
Dinner and O/N at the Art River View.

Day 2 Jungle Trek (B,L,D)
After breakfast, a full day hike, with a guide experienced in the lore and crafts of the jungle. Walk through a rainforest crisscrossed with waterfalls and steams and teeming with thick bamboo, thorny rattan, pandanus and other tropical flora. Plenty of chance to swim in the cool clear waters.

Dinner and O/N at the Art River View

Day 3 Overnight lake trip (B,L,D)
After breakfast, leave by car or mini-bus to Chio Larn Lake. Boat through a fairyland of majestic limestone cliffs and caves. Enjoy a picnic lunch and dinner on the lake. In the evening the hornbills, other large birds, and monkeys emerge to feed.
O/N at the Raft House

Day 4 Raft House -Departure (B,L)
Early morning, take the boat trip to see the beautiful view on the other site of the lake and observe wildlife, which often show off at the edge of the lake.
Following breaqkfast, the morning is at leisure to swim in the lake.
After lunch, travel by car / van to Phuket.
Arrive at Phuket Airport at about 16.30 hrs. and resort / hotel at about 17.30 hrs.
