The Similana Resort is located in Khao Lak, a coast full of perfect beaches for vacationers seeking to escape the tourist crowds on Phuket Island. Located about one hour's drive north of Phuket, the Similana Resort commands infinite views of endless white sandy beaches, magnificent rock formations, and lush vegetation.
Each spacious and lovely Thai style bungalow opens to a private deck and glorious views. You can dine in one of Thailand's most romantic restaurants, perched on a hillside overlooking the sea. You will not find fresher food anywhere, and the menu offers a delightful variety of Thai and Western dishes.
For divers and snorkelers, between November and April there are dive trips from Khao Lak to the Similan Islands National Park, one of the world's top dive sites.
The nine uninhabited tropical islands of the Similans are located about 60 kilometers due west of Khao Lak. The variety of marine life and underwater scenery coupled with top visibility makes this a diver's and snorkelers paradise. Various reef fish of all shapes and sizes can be seen, including rays, reef sharks, turtles, and sometimes dolphins, manta rays and whale sharks. Between dives you can relax on one of the white sandy beaches, snorkel on a shallow reef, or climb strange rock formations.
DAY 1 - Phuket to Similana
Pick up from Phuket airport or hotel and travel north by air conditioned car or van to Khao Lak and the Similana Resort. On arrival check into a spacious Thai style bungalow. The remainder of the day is free.
DAY 2 - At leisure
Breakfast, then all day is free for relaxation. For the adventurous there are waterfalls to explore, fishing, and golf at the nearby Thai Muang Beach Golf Course or a day-trip to Khao Soke National Park (see previous pages).
DAYS 3-5 - Diving trip to the Similan Islands
Following breakfast, at 06:30 transfer to Khao Lak, and depart by the air-conditioned live-aboard dive boat for a 3-day/2 night trip to the Similan Islands Marine National Park, one of the world's top dive sites. The abundance of marine life together with the unique underwater scenery combine to make the Similan Islands a snorkeling paradise. There are normally eleven dives under the guidance of an experienced Divemaster. Full meals are provided during the trip.
Day 6 - At leisure and onward
"Decompress" in the comfort of your Similana cottage with its wide veranda overlooking the sea before departing for Phuket or your next destination in the South.

DAY 1 - Phuket to Similana.

Day 2 - Khao Soke National Park.
Leave by van for a one hour drive through lush scenery to Khao Soke National Park. Relax at a forest lodge and take an easy hike to a waterfall and natural swimming pool in the heart of the rainforest, with picnic lunch in the forest.
Day 3 - At leisure Similana Resort
Day 4 - Tour Phang-nga bay by Chinese junk.
A comfortable restoration of an old Chinese junk and takes you slowly around the bay. With its untouched beaches and craggy limestone islands, the bay is like a scene in an ancient Chinese mountain-water painting.
Day 5 At leisure at Similana Resort and return to Phuket or your next destination.
